Abigail Burd, MSW, LCSW, PMH-C, LCS26867
Abby is often described as a calm and kind therapist and as an effective educator.
She received a Master of Social Work from San Diego State and is licensed in the state of California as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She has worked in agencies such as UCSD Outpatient Psychiatric Services, Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital, St. Vincent de Paul, San Diego City College and Community Research Foundation since 1998.
Abby is a trainer, consultant, and specialist in reproductive and perinatal mental health, and is certified in Perinatal Mental Health (Psychotherapy) by Postpartum Support International. Abby is passionate about the perinatal stage and is humbled by the privilege of becoming a parent to two daughters. Abby is an active member of the Postpartum Health Alliance, has served on their executive board and off and on has led their clinical consultation group. Her “Postpartum Depression Workbook” was published in 2020 and is available for sale direct from the author, on Amazon, or wherever you buy books.
When not in private practice, Abby provides clinical supervision and free mental health counseling as a tenured faculty member at MiraCosta College Health Services. There, she is committed to mentoring new therapists and social workers, and furthering equity through social and racial justice. Abby is currently elected President of the California Community College Mental Health and Wellness Association.
